Bird Records Committee

Enter Your Bird Records

A very important part of Travis Audubon activities is keeping records of the birds that we see. This allows us to complete projects such as the Austin Bird Checklist which shows the birds that we are likely to see in any given month, and where they occur. The data also leads to many other indications, such as the relative rarity of a given bird, the time of year it arrives and departs our region, and so on.

Whether you are on a Field Trip, or just watching the birds in your backyard, please enter the records of what you see into our website, where they will be collected by our bird records committee, entered into a database, and eventually published, either on the web, or by means of a new checklist.

The process is very easy - just go to the bird record entry page and the form is self-explanatory.

The more records we get, the more accurate will be the picture we can draw, so please do enter your lists as often as possible.
